BUHLER, Kan. — Buhler High School’s girls soccer team opened the postseason in dominant fashion, blanking Winfield 8-0 on Monday night at Crusader Stadium.
The Crusaders improved to 12-5-0 with the win, while the Vikings ended their season at 0-16-1.
Alyssa Berner, Mikaela Jarrett and Kennedee Applegate each scored twice for Buhler. Juliette Shank added a goal to round out the scoring.
Jarrett led the team with three assists, while Zoey Dick, Kenzie Polk, Berner and Nicole Anselmo each contributed one.
The victory marked Buhler’s 10th shutout of the season. The Crusaders will host the winner of Tuesday’s Wichita Collegiate vs. Mulvane matchup in the regional championship Thursday at 6 p.m. in Buhler.
