HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The City of Hutchinson announced on Tuesday the planting of 16 trees in Farmington Park.

They are planting a selection of trees from K-State Extension’s preferred list for South Central Kansas.

Here's what you will see:

4 Bald Cypress
3 October Glory Maples
2 Autumn Blaze Maples
2 London Plane Trees
2 Shumard Oaks
2 Royal Raindrop Crabapples
1 Spring Snow Crabapple

This initiative is a collaborative effort, with neighbors in the Farmington Park Neighborhood raising half of the funding with the other half from the Tree Board.

The trees will be properly prepared, staked, and watered, and they will be included in the city's tree care program for the next three years.
