TOPEKA, Kan. — Today marks the first day of practice for high school sports and activities across the Sunflower State. Those sports and activities include scholars bowl, debate, girls & boys cross country, girls golf, girls tennis, gymnastics, boys soccer, and football.
Today also marks the first day for middle school fall sports to begin, as well.
The first day of competition for each sport and activity varies depending on a variety of factors.
First Day of Competition
Girls Golf: August 18
Girls Tennis: August 18
Volleyball: August 25
Boys Soccer: August 25
Football: August 30
Cross Country: August 30
Gymnastics: September 1
Debate: September 15
