HARVEY COUNTY —Newton Fire and EMS shared an information on an important assignment they were involved in Tuesday.
According to a social media report from Newton Fire and EMS, " Sometimes our calls look a little different than you might expect."
"Today, Newton Fire/EMS assisted our Animal Control Officer with the recovery of a deceased dog. Dispatch contacted Animal Control, who requested assistance from our crews with a water recovery of the dog."
"The dog was microchipped, which means we can help get them back to their family. The owner will be contacted with information about their pet."
"We know losing a pet is heartbreaking, and we’re grateful to be able to lend a hand when our community and its four-legged members need us."
