HUTCHINSON, Kan. — A Hutchinson man arrested just this year for a shooting that happened in 2017 waived his right to a preliminary hearing and entered guilty pleas to lesser charges.

Maique Rodriguez Faudoa was charged with attempted first-degree murder in the May 2017 shooting of his uncle, Jesus Faudoa. Instead, Rodriguez Faudoa pleaded guilty Wednesday morning to aggravated robbery and robbery. Jesus Faudoa was found shot multiple times in the 700 block of East 7th Avenue. Rodriguez Faudoa then took the victim's cell phone and pickup. He was arrested in El Paso, Texas, earlier this year and brought back to Reno County.

Sentencing is set for Nov. 4.
