Couple arrested following drug investigation at Kan. home

SHAWNEE COUNTY —Law enforcement authorities are investigating two suspects on multiple charges after police served a search warrant on a Kansas home.

On Wednesday, police served a search warrant in the 3800 Block of SW Topeka Blvd, related to an ongoing investigation, according to Lt. Jerry Monasmith.

While conducting the search warrant, two individuals wanted for Shawnee County warrants were located, James Epps, 37 years of age, and Tia Blackford, 25 years of age, both of Topeka.

Police arrested Epps and Blackford and transported them to the Shawnee County Department of Corrections.

 Epps is being held for the Felony Shawnee County Warrant and requested charges of Aggravated Battery, Battery LEO, and Obstruction. Blackford is being held on the Felony Shawnee County Warrant and requested charges of Aggravated Child Endangerment, Possession of Narcotics, Felony Obstruction and  Possession of drug paraphernalia with intent, according to Monasmith.
