The game scheduled to be played on Tuesday night in Derby, has been postponed until Wednesday night due to rain.

DERBY, Kan. — The Hutchinson Monarchs have found success driving in runs this season, hitting .314 with runners in scoring position. They'll look to continue that trend when they face the Derby Twins on the road for the first tie this season tonight in Derby.

Last time out:

AJ Mustow powered the Monarchs to an 8-5 victory over the Twins, going 2-for-3 with two home runs and three RBIs. Hutchinson rallied late to secure the win, handing Derby its second loss of the season.

Player spotlight:

Reliever Aiden Sowers has been effective on the mound, throwing first-pitch strikes to eight of the 14 batters he's faced this season. His ability to get ahead in counts has been a key asset for the Monarchs’ bullpen.

About the Monarchs:

Hutchinson is off to a hot 3-0 start, with Mustow leading the way. The third baseman owns a staggering 3.208 OPS, including a .875 on-base percentage and a 2.333 slugging mark. Behind the plate, catcher Keegan Demmer has been a defensive anchor, leading the team with 27 total fielding chances.

About the Twins:

Derby enters the matchup with a 1-2 record. Cade Sutherland has been a bright spot offensively, posting a 1.750 OPS, highlighted by a .500 OBP and 1.250 slugging percentage. First baseman Noah Allison has handled 23 total chances to lead the Twins’ defense.

The second game of the series will be played tonight at Panther Field in Derby with first pitch at 7 p.m.
