LIBERAL, Kan. — The Dragons (19-10, 15-6) went up by 17 with 7:24 to play Saturday and seemed to be cruising to a double-digit victory.
Seward (3-25, 2-21) had other plans as Hutchinson would score only seven points over the final seven minutes.
With 7.1 seconds remaining, the Saints had to foul and put Kobe Smith on the line.
He hit both free throws to put Hutchinson up three.
Seward went the length of the court and Carson Bennett fired up a three at the buzzer.
Bennett's shot was too strong and the Dragons held on for the 57-54 victory.

Bo Aldridge (21) and DJ Dudley (13) scored 34 of Hutchinson's 57.
Mahammed Jobe led Seward with 22.
