Merlyn 'Royce' Beemer, 83, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, April 15, 2022. He was born in Overbrook, Osage County, Kansas to Earl Lewis Beemer and Lois Miriam (Hesselbarth) Beemer.
Royce was raised on a farm where he acquired a great love for horses, cattle, fishing, gardening and woodworking. He was a graduate of Americus High School, Americus, Kansas where he was involved in glee club, basketball, softball and more. After graduation he served from 1957 - 1961, and is a veteran of the United States Air Force. His career with Excel included many years of OTR Truck Driver hauling cattle, and then retired as Safety Director.
Another love of his was serving the Lord at Riverview Baptist Church. He enjoyed being available and used in any area that needed help, along with listening to Bible Verses in Awanas. His greatest love was his family, whom he enjoyed spending time with.
He is preceded in death by his parents Earl and Lois Beemer, and brother Don Beemer.
Royce is survived by his wife Beverly Beemer of the home; children Joann (Martin) Cisneros of Gypsum, Eddie Beemer of Bennington, Richard (Janet) Beemer of Bennington, Scott (Bernie) Beemer of Windom, Marliss (Dave) Owens of Haysville, Dave (Laura) Beemer of Wichita, Diane Carlton-Bartlett of Wichita, Wileena Beemer of Wichita; brother Bob Beemer; 21 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
Visitation 5-7 pm with Service 6-6:30 pm on Friday, April 22 at the Baker Funeral Home Chapel, 100 S. Cedar, Valley Center with Pastor Jerry Elder officiating.
