DENVER (AP) — Patrick Mahomes led the Kansas City to their 14th consecutive win over the Denver Broncos despite throwing three interceptions. The Chiefs won 34-28 and the Broncos lost quarterback Russell Wilson to a concussion. Mahomes threw for 352 yards and three touchdowns as the Chiefs improved to 10-3. He led a clock-chewing drive after L'Jarius Sneed's interception of Brett Rypien's pass late in the fourth quarter. Rypien came in after Wilson was knocked out of the game early in the fourth quarter. Wilson got hurt at the end of a 14-yard scramble to the Kansas City 2-yard line.

INGLEWOOD, Calif. (AP) — Justin Herbert threw for 367 yards and a touchdown and a short-handed Chargers defense got the best of the Dolphins’ Tua Tagovailoa as Los Angeles beat Miami 23-17. The Chargers moved into position for the final AFC playoff berth, ahead of the New York Jets. Herbert completed a career-high 39 passes on 51 attempts for his 21st 300-yard game. He became the first NFL quarterback to throw for 13,000 yards in his first three seasons. Tyreek Hill scored two touchdowns for the Dolphins, one of them on an improbable fumble recovery. But Tagovailoa had his worst game as an NFL starter, completing 10 of 28 passes for 145 yards.

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (AP) — The Philadelphia Eagles are going to the playoffs for the second straight year and the fifth time in six seasons. The league's best team improved to 12-1 on Sunday with a 48-22 thrashing of the New York Giants. MVP candidate Jalen Hurts threw for two touchdowns and ran for another as the Eagles opened a 21-0 lead and never looked back. Miles Sanders ran for 144 yards and two touchdowns. The Eagles finished with seven sacks, including three by Brandon Graham. The Giants have one win in their past six games, going 1-4-1 in that span. This was New York's worst loss under first-year coach Brian Daboll.

MANHATTAN, Kan. (AP) — Keyontae Johnson scored 18 points to lead seven in double figures and Kansas State routed Incarnate Word 98-50. Johnson made 7 of 9 field goals, including 3 of 5 3-pointers and added five assists, four rebounds and three steals. Nae’Qwan Tomlin had 15 points and nine rebounds for the Wildcats. Desi Sills scored 14 points, David N’Guessan had 12 and Cam Carter, Dorian Finister and Markquis Nowell all scored 10 points. Nowell, who is the only active Division I player with at least 1,000 points, 500 assists and 200 steals in his career, had eight assists. Trey Miller led UIW with 12 points.

AMES, Iowa (AP) — Aljaz Kunc scored 21 points and No. 20 Iowa State broke away in the second half to beat McNeese State 77-40. Jaren Holmes added 17 points and Gabe Kalscheur had 15 for the Cyclones, who are 8-2. Ahead 33-24 at the break, Iowa State scored the first 15 points of the second half. McNeese committed 10 turnovers in the first eight minutes of the period, leading to 13 points for the Cyclones. The Cowboys are 2-7.

NEW YORK (AP) — Justyn Mutts had three steals and three points in the last two minutes and sparked a game-changing 7-0 run to help Virginia Tech beat Oklahoma State 70-65 at the Hoop Hall Invitational. Mylyjael Poteat broke a tie with a pair of free throws with 1:59 to play, putting the Hokies on top 62-60. Mutts then turned a steal into a free throw and another steal into a hook shot that pushed the lead to 65-60 with 47 seconds to go. A third steal resulted in two free throws by Hunter Cattoor and a 67-60 lead with 37 seconds left. Sean Pedulla scored 16 points with Grant Basile and Mutts adding 13 each. Avery Anderson III and Kalib Boone had 15 each for the Cowboys.

DOHA, Qatar (AP) — Tears are flowing from soccer’s biggest superstars as they make emotional exits from what might be their last World Cup. First it was Neymar. Then it was Cristiano Ronaldo. Could Lionel Messi be next? Momentum is building behind Messi’s push to cap his one-of-a-kind career by winning the World Cup for the first time. The 35-year-old Argentina playmaker has carried his team to the semifinals almost in the same way Diego Maradona led the South American nation to the title in 1986. Now in Argentina’s way is Croatia. The 2018 runner-up is establishing a reputation as the most stubborn and durable of opponents and boasts one of soccer’s most graceful players in Luka Modric.
