Betty Jean Greever |1940-2021|

Betty Jean Greever, 81, passed away November 30, 2021, at Hospice House, Hutchinson.  She was born September 1, 1940, in Hutchinson, to Bernard Paul and Arlie Irene (Taylor) Hiebert.

Betty was a 1958 graduate of Nickerson High School, and graduated from Sidney’s Hairdressing College, Hutchinson.  Co-owner operator of Grave Builders and designed multiple homes in Hutchinson.

She was a 35-year member of the Silver Leaf Chapter #434 Order of Eastern Star, Hutchinson, lifetime member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, charter member of Central Kansas Landlord Association, longtime member of the Salt City Cruisers Car Club, and Zion Lutheran Church, Hutchinson, Salt City Square Dance Club, past guardian of  Job’s Daughter, Bethel 15 and member of The Daughters of the Nile.  She was a beautician and the owner/president of BJ’s Investments.

 Betty was married to the father of her children, Robert Alan Graves, and they later divorced.  On April 2, 1983, she married Richard Wayne Greever in Hutchinson.  They shared over 38 years of marriage.

Betty is survived by:  husband, Richard W. Greever of Hutchinson; children, William Graves of Hutchinson, Jon D. (Amy) Graves of Crofton, MD, Leslie (Craig) Pedersen of Hutchinson, and Kathy Graves (Bryan) Speir of Hutchinson; siblings, Ardith May, Ralph (Toni) Hiebert, and Glynnis Tedder, all of Hutchinson; grandchildren, Aria (Jared Hatcher) Pedersen, Neil Pedersen, Noah Pedersen, Nyle Pedersen, Brock (Rachelle) Stewart, Tyler Speir, Theoren Speir, Lauren Paige Speir, Isaac Speir, Robert ‘Bobby’ Graves, and Grayson Campbell Graves; and three great-grandchildren, Everly, Sophie, and Keaton.

She was preceded in death by:  her step parents; son, Steven Greever; siblings, Paul Hiebert, Vera Ummel, and Phyllis Balzer; brother-in-law, Tim Tedder; and niece, Emily Tedder.

Memorial service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, December 11, 2021, at Elliott Mortuary Chapel with Pastor Andy Addis officiating.  Order of Eastern Star rites will be conducted by Silver Leaf Chapter #434.

Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and from 10 to 11 a.m.  Saturday, December 11, 2021, with the family present Saturday at Elliott Mortuary.
