The only son in a family of four sisters, he was cherished from the beginning. He graduated from William Cullen Bryant High School in Queens, New York, and left NYC for McPherson College. Bill served 30 years on the Hutchinson Fire Department. After retirement, he loved interacting with the kids on his Nickerson bus. After dropping the kids off, he was known to get in a round of golf, racquetball or pickleball game.

Bill loved the New York Yankees, playing poker, and enjoying the simple life with family and friends. He told the best stories about life in New York and dropped everything to play with his grandkids. Bill was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend to all who knew him. He will be missed dearly by all.

Survivors include his wife, Sylvia; son, Brian Perrone and wife Emily (VinZant) of Burrton, Kansas; son, William (Billy) Anthony Perrone of Hutchinson, Kansas; grandchildren, Austin, Alec, Ella, Adam, and Eliza; sisters, Paula Callanan, Toni Jachens, Jessie Campbell, Mari Sheehan.
