
JACKSON COUNTY —Law enforcement authorities are investigating a Kansas felon on new charges after a weekend arrest.
Just after 8a.m. January 30, a sheriff's deputy conducted a traffic stop on a 2005 Ford Explorer near 150th and P. Road, according to Sheriff Tim Morse.
Deputies arrested the driver identified as Josias Elliot Aitkens, 39, of Mayetta, on a requested charge of criminal possession of a firearm by a felon.
Aitkens has previous two previous drug convictions and had been out of prison since November of 2018, according to the Kansas Department of Corrections.
