
HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Hutchinson Community College freshman guard KaMyra Barber earned NJCAA Division I women’s basketball honorable mention All-America honors, the NJCAA announced Wednesday.
All-America selections were made by the NJCAA Division I Women’s Basketball Committee.
Barber capped a standout freshman season for the Blue Dragons, adding national recognition after previously being named a first-team All-Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference selection and the KJCCC Freshman of the Year.
A 5-foot-8 guard from Wichita Heights, Barber played in all 36 games for Hutchinson during the 2025-26 season and emerged as one of the Blue Dragons’ top all-around players. She averaged 13.2 points, 6.8 rebounds and 3.2 assists per game while shooting 40.0% from the field, 29.1% from 3-point range and 71.3% from the free-throw line.
Barber helped lead Hutchinson to a 29-7 record and a run to the quarterfinals of the NJCAA Division I Women’s Basketball Championship.
She turned in several strong performances throughout the season, including 23 points against Murray State College on Nov. 14 and another 23-point effort at Colby Community College on Jan. 3. She also scored 20 points against Triton College, Seward County and Cloud County Community College.
Barber was especially productive during the national tournament in Lake Charles, Louisiana.
In Hutchinson’s opening-round 54-50 victory over Williston State on March 24, Barber posted 21 points and a season-high 17 rebounds. She followed with 14 points and eight rebounds in a 64-53 second-round win over Northwest Florida State on March 26. In the Blue Dragons’ season-ending 57-54 loss to Clarendon College in the quarterfinals on March 28, Barber scored 16 points and grabbed six rebounds.
Over Hutchinson’s three national tournament games, Barber averaged 17.0 points and 10.3 rebounds per contest.
Barber was one of 20 players named honorable mention All-America by the NJCAA and the lone Blue Dragon recognized on the 2025-26 All-America teams.
