BUTLER COUNTY — USD 394 in Rose Hill issued a statement Wednesday following the May 19 abduction of a 5-year-old boy from the daycare at the school. As law enforcement authorities continue their investigation of the incident, the district shared a statement, "We are taking the time to review our procedures with child safety at the focus of the review."  The USD 394 day care facility will reopen on Tuesday.

At 2:40p.m. May 19, a woman later identified as 31-year-old Danielle Banzet entered the school day care at USD 394 posing as a Social Worker, according to the Kansas Bureau of Investigation. She gained access to the 5-year-old boy, exited the school and left in a black suburban.

Banzet was ultimately identified as the boy's mother who had her parental rights severed by the court. Actions taken by Banzet prior to the abduction, including threats of violence, indicated that boy was in imminent danger and the KBI issued an Amber Alert.

Late that night, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol located the boy, Banzet and the boy's father, 33-year-old Zachery Sisk.
