LAWRENCE, Kan. โ Kansas basketball coach Bill Self and his staff capped off a busy week on the recruiting trail by landing a fourth commitment from the Class of 2026.
Davion Adkins, a 6-foot-8, 205-pound forward from Prolific Prep in California, announced his verbal commitment to the Jayhawks on Friday, joining a fast-growing recruiting class. Adkins, ranked No. 24 nationally by 247Sports, chose Kansas over Houston and Rutgers after making multiple campus visits over the past year.
The four-star prospect becomes the third pledge of the 2026 class, following small forwards Trent Perry of Link Academy and Javon Bardwell of PHHoenix Prep, along with point guard Tay Kinney of Overtime Elite in Atlanta, who committed last Sunday.
Adkins visited SMU, Kansas, Rutgers and Houston during his recruitment but ultimately decided to join Selfโs program, which now holds one of the strongest early hauls in the 2026 cycle.
