
HUTCHINSON, Kan. — A project to get previous convictions expunged in Reno County is having an event where those looking for help can learn more.
Online applications are required.
Anyone with eligible convictions from Reno County, Kansas can apply online anytime between now and May 13th at 5 p.m. for expungements.
All applications will be reviewed for eligibility. If your application is chosen and you qualify you will be notified in late May. The cost for expungement is approximately $200 per conviction to be expunged. It is possible, but not guaranteed, that these fees may be waived as a part of this project or depending on your household income.
All restitution ordered by the Court must be paid before an expungement will be considered as a part of this project. No exceptions can or will be made.
A volunteer attorney who will assist in answering questions on Wednesday, May 4th from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Hutchinson Public Library in the upstairs conference room.
No appointment is necessary, but again, applying online is required.
