HUTCHINSON, Kan. — There are two opportunities to audition for productions with Stage 9 coming up later this month.
Auditions for Tony N’ Tina’s Wedding, an audience participation comedy and dinner theatre, are coming up May 21 and 28 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m at Stage 9 at 9 South Main.
There is a total cast of 24 adults, lead roles include a singer who can play guitar and act, a DJ who wants to act or a karaoke operator who sings, and a separate vocalist.
Auditions will be done in small groups, with the first rehearsal June 5 from 12:30 to 4 p.m. and performances Aug. 4-6 and 11-13 at Grace Episcopal Church.
Audience members are the guests at the nuptial celebration of Tony Nunzio and Valentina Vitale in all its tacky and hilarious glory.
Following the church service is a reception where the audience joins the wedding party and their bickering families for a pasta dinner, “champagne” toasts, wedding cake and dancing to a DJ.

Also happening in May are auditions for Disney Descendants, a show that Stage 9 is doing with Hutchinson High School.
It's a musical with youth and adults. Auditions are May 24 and 25 from 1 to 3 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Hutch High Auditorium.
Rehearsals will begin Aug. 3, with the performance Oct. 13-16 at Hutch High.
