A bridge replacement project in rural McPherson County will require the temporary closure of a section of Comanche Road beginning next week.

According to McPherson County Public Works, crews will replace a bridge located just west of K-61 Highway along Comanche Road. To allow for construction, Comanche Road will be closed to through traffic between K-61 and 9th Avenue.

Officials said the area immediately surrounding the bridge will be closed to all traffic during the project.

The closure is expected to begin Monday, March 9, with construction anticipated to last about seven months, weather permitting.
