Theoplis “Theo” Johnson Jr., 59, passed away May 8, 2022 at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center, Hutchinson. He was born August 7, 1962 in Hutchinson, the son of Theoplis Johnson Sr. and Claudia (Brown) Hawthorne.
He attended Hutchinson High School. He worked at Consolidated Manufacturing in maintenance. He also worked for Stutzman’s Greenhouse. Theo has many interests and talents. He was an avid motorcyclist and played the drums at McGee Chapel Church of God in Christ in Hutchinson where he was a member.
Theo was preceded in death by his father; a maternal grandmother, Lou Brown; one aunt, Neva Lewis, and one uncle, Cedrick Jackson.
He is survived by his mother, Claudia Hawthorne; three daughters, Tameila Johnson, Giselle Johnson and Karlee Caudill; one son, Theoplis Johnson III; two grandchildren, Yasmene Carter and London Vassell; one aunt, Shirley Owens; and two uncles, Charles Johnson and Donald Jackson.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, May 21, 2022 at Hutchinson Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Hutchinson, with Reverend William Green officiating. Visitation will be held on Friday, May 20, 2022 from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the funeral chapel.
