PRATT, Kan. — The City of Pratt has appointed Robert Walker as interim chief of police, city officials announced Wednesday.
Walker, a veteran law enforcement officer with years of experience, will lead the Pratt Police Department on an interim basis. In a statement, the city said it is “fortunate to have him” step into the role during the transition.
The appointment follows a leadership change within the department. Former Police Chief Joe Ohler has been removed from his position and has chosen not to continue his employment with the department, according to the city.
Officials expressed appreciation for Ohler’s service, noting his contributions to the community during his tenure.
No additional details about the transition or a timeline for selecting a permanent chief were immediately released.
