HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Salt City Racing has postponed its Friday and Saturday race events at the Kansas State Fairgrounds because of recent rainfall and additional rain in the forecast. This marks the second straight weekend races have been postponed due to rainfall.
Downtown Hutchinson received 2.3 inches of rain since early Thursday morning, leaving track conditions unsuitable for racing.
The Friday schedule was set to include IMCA Racing, with IMCA Stock Car, IMCA Modified and IMCA Northern SportMod divisions. Saturday’s schedule included the ASCS National Series and ASCS Gunsmoke.
“With the recent massive rainfall over the last 24 hours, and more rain expected today and tomorrow, ASCS and Salt City Racing track officials have mutually decided to postpone this weekend’s events at the Kansas State Fairgrounds,” organizers said.
