Frederick (Fred) Eugene Boone |1939-2021|

Pratt - Frederick (Fred) Eugene Boone, 82, passed away Saturday, September 4, 2021 at Pratt Health and Rehab. He was born on June 5, 1939, the third child of Harold Bertram and Clarice Vanesia Ellis Boone in Mulberry, Kansas.

Fred family moved to Mulvane when he was in junior high and he went through high school at Mulvane High School. He then joined the United States Army in 1958. His tours of duty include Iceland, Germany and in 1966 he went to Vietnam.

Frederick (Fred) married Dorothy Ann (Walker) Boone on April 14, 1963. They were married for 58 years.

He particularly liked working in the oilfield, which he did for 20 years. A favorite hobby was trains and he was exceptionally talented in building train layouts.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy; daughters, Katherine "Kathy" (Alan) Hitz and Brenda Boone both of Pratt; grandsons, Colin (Danae) Hitz of Shawnee, Caleb Hitz of Topeka and Jacob Hitz of Trinidad, Colorado; great-grandson, Kasen Hitz; and sister, Judy (Brad) Modlin.

Fred is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Russell Lee Boone; and sister, Patricia Howard; and infant sister,
Sharon Kay Boone in 1943; and a daughter, Cindy Raelene Boone.

Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, September 10, 2021 at Calvary Baptist Church, Pratt with Pastor John Kissell presiding. Inurnment with military honors will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery, Pratt.
