One man is dead and another is critically injured following a shooting Sunday in Norwich, according to the Kingman County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies were called to the 300 block of South Somerset Street on Sunday, Dec. 21, for a report of a shooting. When emergency crews arrived, they found a 37-year-old man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was transported by Norwich EMS to a Wichita hospital in critical condition.
A second individual, a 44-year-old man, was found deceased at the scene.
The Kansas Bureau of Investigation is assisting with the case, including support from its crime scene unit, according to Undersheriff Travis Sowers.
No additional information has been released due to the ongoing investigation and the need to notify family members. Authorities stated this was an isolated incident and there is no danger to the public.
