HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The Hutchinson Monarchs found a way to win late again on Tuesday night to defeat the Derby Twins 3-2 with a bottom of the ninth walk-off double by Blake Bradford.
Derby had tied the game in the top half of the eighth 2-2 before the Monarchs Jarrett Flaggert reached on an error leading off the bottom of the ninth. Sam Wiese sacrificed Wiese to second. Then Bradford delivered the game-winning double and the Monarchs walk it off 3-2.
The same two teams match up Wednesday night in Derby at Panther Park with the first pitch at 7pm.
The Monarchs travel to Great Bend to take on the Bat Cats on Friday after getting July 4th off. The next hone game will be Saturday night at Hobart-Detter field in Carey Park versus Great Bend again before wrapping up the weekend hosting the Diamond Kings on Sunday.
