HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Lisa Gleason with the United Way of Reno County said fundraising is off to a good start.
"We are so excited that we're able to get into businesses," Gleason said. "We're able to give presentations and talk to them about why they should raise their hand and support United Way and all of our partner agencies."
The stated goal of this year's campaign is a little more than last year, but co-chair Ben Kraft has a more ambitious goal in mind.
"The goal is $1.2 million," Kraft said. "Amy and I really have a personal goal of trying to beat that and have $1.5 million. That would be the largest amount ever collected in Reno County."
It really is the proverbial nice cup of coffee or two to get to significant amounts.
"We're talking $10 a week would put you in the Key Club," Kraft said. "It really doesn't take much for us to meet our goal."
There is a special Key Club event Wednesday at 10 South Main. Call the United Way at 620-669-9329 to find out how you can give and be a part of the event.
