HAYSVILLE, Kan.—The Hutchinson Monarchs had no trouble on offense Sunday, winning big over Haysville Aviators 13-5.
Hutchinson opened up scoring in the second inning, when Karson Coffee homered on a 1-2 count, scoring two runs.
Brett Herrmann took the win for Hutchinson Monarchs. The pitcher allowed three hits and two runs over four innings, striking out three and walking zero. Kaden Wickersham, Reed Scott, and Noah Kelley all put in work in relief out of the bullpen, steering their team towards the victory.
The Monarchs tallied three home runs on the day. Cade Clemens went deep in the eighth inning. Coffee went for the long ball in the second inning. Sawyer Thornhill had a long ball in the fifth inning.
Hutchinson racked up 17 hits on the day. Brannan, Bryce Logan, Clemens, Coffee, Jenner Steele, and Alex Birge each managed multiple hits for Hutchinson Monarchs. Logan and Brannan all had three hits to lead Hutchinson Monarchs.
