Phyllis Roseanne Balzer, 64, died January 1, 2021, at Hutchinson Hospice House. She was born December 30, 1956, in Hutchinson, to Ben and Arlie (Taylor) Hiebert.
A nearly life-time resident of Reno County, Phyllis grew up in South Hutchinson and attended Nickerson High School. She was baptized in the South Hutchinson Christian Church.
Phyllis was well known for her big smile, many acts of kindness and friendship to others. She enjoyed visiting with her multitude of friends and family, riding her motorcycle and all things flamingo. She will always be remembered as a loving, caring, happy and fun loving person. She was loved by all.
Surviving Phyllis are: husband, Tom Balzer; son, Joshua Fischer; grandson, Kolton Fischer; stepson, Chad (Heike) Balzer; step-grandson, Nick Balzer; brother, Ralph (Toni) Hiebert ; sisters, Betty (Richard) Greever, Ardith May, and Glennys Tedder; brother- in-law, Jerry Ummel; sister-in- law, Patty Hiebert; aunt, Phyllis Merkel; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Phyllis was preceded in death by: her parents; brother, Paul Hiebert; sister, Vera Ummel; stepson, Joshua Balzer; brothers-in-law, Wayne May and Tim Tedder.
A come-and-go Celebration of Life will be June 25, 2021, from 3:00-8:00 p.m. at Lake Talbot West at the Kansas State Fairgrounds.
