The Young Professionals of Reno County, in partnership with the Hutchinson National Education Association (NEA) and Hutchinson Area Retired School Personnel Association (HARSPA), will host a community forum with candidates for the Hutchinson USD 308 Board of Education on Wednesday, October 8, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the Hutchinson Community College Shears Technology Center.
Former YP leader Jackson Swearer will moderate the event, which offers residents a chance to hear directly from candidates about their vision for local schools.
Those participating include Laura Corey, Jeff Roberson, Cheryl L. Thompson, Shontina R. Tipton, Gregory Scott Johnson, and Lindsey Hatfield.
Organizers say the evening will provide an opportunity for voters to learn, ask questions, and engage in meaningful dialogue about the future of public education in Hutchinson. The event is free and open to the public.
Voters will choose three at-large members for the USD 308 Board of Education in the general election on November 4.
