The city’s splash pad season kicked off Tuesday as two of its three locations officially opened for the summer.
Families can now enjoy water features at the Fairgrounds and Rice Park splash pads, which are open and fully operational, city officials announced. The popular summer spots are expected to draw crowds as temperatures rise.
However, the Avenue A splash pad will not open as scheduled due to a mechanical issue that requires a replacement part. City staff said they are working quickly to complete repairs and will provide updates on the opening timeline.
