HUTCHINSON, Kan. — According to a social media post this week, second graders in Mrs. Starkweather's class at Plum Creek Elementary got to join an official NASA experiment by planting tomato seeds that spent a month on the International Space Station.

They will track germination and present their findings at the Cosmosphere in two weeks.

As previously reported, astronaut Nick Hague will be here April 5 to speak at the Dillon Lecture Series and also touch base with Tomatosphere™ students.

Starkweather is one of a group of teachers in the Launch Learning program with Cosmosphere.
