Posted Dec 22, 2021 9:34 PM

Matthew Wayne Agee, 48, a devoted father, loving husband, caring brother, and sweet friend went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on 19, December 2021 in Newton, after a courageous battle with Covid, surrounded by loved ones who will continue to honor his legacy by living their lives as he did…for the Lord.

He was born in Wichita, to Wesley Barry Agee and Karlynn Jean (Cornog) Agee on June 6, 1973.  He was a life-long resident of Sedgwick.  He attended Sedgwick schools and was a graduate of Sedgwick High School.  Shortly after High School, he obtained his EMT and volunteered on the Sedgwick EMS for 2 years.   He had various other jobs as mechanic, truck driver, parts sales, and most recently, at USD 259 as a DDC Technician for HVAC Controls.

He was a longtime member of Sedgwick First Christian Church where he served as deacon, youth leader and assistant to his wife in children’s ministry as well as numerous church events.  As youth leader, he baptized many youth and children as well as touched several lives for the Lord.  Matthew enjoyed working with his hands and used his skills to help friends with vehicles and other projects.  Many would say that he wasn’t willing to accept payment for any of his help.  He was always willing to give a helping hand.  He enjoyed watching TV and spending time with his family.  He was frequently seen with his pop and chips.

On March 22, 1997, he was united in marriage to Shelia Marie Fry in Clearwater.  She survives of the home with their three daughters, Hannah (17), Trinity (10) and Tatum (10).  He is also survived by his father, Wesley, sister Renee (Todd) Phillips, two brothers, Wesley (Maria) Agee and Christopher (Jerilyn) Agee all of Sedgwick and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by his Mother, Karlynn, and Uncle Dale Agee as well as his paternal and maternal grandparents.  Matthew will be honored in a church celebration of life on Tuesday, December 28, 2021 at 10am at First Christian Church of Sedgwick with Pastor Doug Ingmire officiating.  Visitation with family and viewing will be Monday, December 27, 2021 from 5pm-7pm also, at the church.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be designated to Matt Agee Memorial Fund at any Legacy Bank for his daughters’ education.
