HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The Hutchinson Salvation Army needs your help to reach their kettle goal for 2024, as they still needed over $20,000 to reach their goal as of Thursday.

"We definitely need support as we go into the weekend," said Major Paul James. "The weekends are usually always bigger anyway. We have some matching opportunities at 5th Street Dillons, we have matching opportunities at the 30th Street Dillons. Those are $20 bill matches all this week. Then Saturday, of course, all of our locations, $20 bills will be matched, as well. A lot of opportunity to help us get to that goal."

They are still doing the Tap to Pay match if you'll tap the $20 spot at the kettle outside one of the matching locations. They also still need some toys.

"Friday is our distribution," James said. "We'll be distributing to over 900 families for food and then over 1100 kids for toys. One of those age groups that's difficult to provide for, 10-12 year old boys and girls are kind of that area, but specifically girls 10-12. We're way short on those."
