KINGMAN COUNTY – The Kansas Bureau of Investigation (KBI) and the Kingman Police Department are investigating multiple allegations of child sexual abuse made against an owner of a home daycare, who also had access to children while employed as a bus driver with Kingman-Norwich public schools.
On the evening of Tuesday, Aug. 4, an allegation of child rape was reported to officers of the Kingman Police Department. At approximately 11:40 p.m. Tuesday, the Kingman Police Department arrested Tony Streight, 47, for rape of a child under 14 years of age, and indecent liberties with a child. The arrest occurred at the Kingman law enforcement center. Following his arrest, Streight was booked into the Kingman County Jail.
The Kingman Police Department requested KBI assistance on Aug. 6, at around 4:50 p.m. KBI agents responded to help investigate.
Streight was one of two adults operating a home daycare at 250 East H Ave., in Kingman. The daycare, Little Explorers Playschool, had operated since 2017, and was licensed since 2022.

KINGMAN, Kan. — A USD 331 Kingman Norwich employee has been arrested on allegations of child sex crimes, prompting the school district to reassure families that the alleged incident was not connected to school activities.
The Kingman Police Department said Tony R. Streight was booked into the Kingman County Jail on allegations of rape and indecent liberties with a child.
According to Streight's publicly available social media accounts, he worked as a teacher assistant at Little Explorers Playschool and as a bus driver for USD 331 Kingman Norwich.
In a statement to district families, Superintendent Kip Wilson said law enforcement has informed the district that the alleged incident did not occur on school property, during school hours or in connection with any school-sponsored activities.
"Based on the information provided to the district by law enforcement, the alleged incident did not occur on school property, during school hours, or in connection with any school-sponsored activities," Wilson said. "The district will fully cooperate with law enforcement as necessary while they conduct their investigation."
Wilson said the employee has been removed from all job duties pending the outcome of the legal process.
The Kingman Police Department said no additional information about the alleged victim or the investigation will be released because of the victim's age and the sensitive nature of the case.
The investigation remains ongoing.
