IRVING, Texas — The Big 12 Conference is taking its baseball championship west.
Starting in 2026, the Big 12 Baseball Championship will relocate to Surprise Stadium in Surprise, Arizona, the spring training home of the Kansas City Royals and Texas Rangers. The 10,714-seat facility, recently named USA Today’s top-ranked spring training venue, will host the conference tournament May 20-23, 2026.
The move ends the tournament’s run at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas, where it has been held since 2022. The Big 12 will continue to work with REV Entertainment, the event management company behind both Globe Life Field and Surprise Stadium, to coordinate the championship’s operations.
Surprise Stadium features a variety of amenities including lawn seating, premium suites, and air-conditioned seating areas. In addition to hosting MLB spring training for over 20 years, the stadium is home to Arizona Fall League games and will add an annual college baseball tournament beginning in 2026.
