HUTCHINSON, Kan. — A major Christian music night has been added to the entertainment lineup at the Kansas State Fair, featuring two well-known contemporary artists and a rising family band.
General Manager Bryan Schulz announced that Danny Gokey and Colton Dixon will headline a concert on Wednesday, Sept. 16, at 7:30 p.m. in the Kansas Star Casino Grandstand. The show will also feature special guest Wallerco.
Schulz says the event is part of an effort to expand the fair’s entertainment offerings with a dedicated Christian music night.
Gokey, a longtime presence in Christian music, brings a catalog of award-winning songs, while Dixon is known for hits like “Build a Boat” and “Miracles.” Waller Co, a Nashville-area family band, adds a unique dynamic to the lineup, performing together across multiple instruments and vocals.
“This is something new that we’re trying this year,” Schulz said, noting the combination of established artists and an emerging act is expected to create a strong draw for families and church groups.
Ticket prices are structured to remain accessible, with reserved seating starting at $45, general admission at $40, and track pit standing tickets at $50. VIP standing-room tickets, which include food and drinks, are priced at $75, while reserved tables for six are available for $415 and include gate admission.
Tickets will be available for early purchase through email notification for those registered on the fair’s website, with general public sales opening the following day. Fair officials are also encouraging buyers to purchase directly through official channels to avoid third-party markups or potential scams.
The concert announcement comes as the Kansas State Fair continues to roll out its 2026 entertainment schedule, with additional acts expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
Beyond entertainment, Schulz said that preparations are well underway for this year’s event, including ongoing facility improvements and special exhibits tied to the nation’s 250th anniversary.
The 2026 Kansas State Fair runs Sept. 11-20.
