Ag Minute: Water agreements

A $280 million dollar grant agreement between the USDA and the Texas Ag Department will help farmers in the Rio Grande Valley. 

The farmers in that region have been hurt by Mexico’s failure to meet its water delivery obligations under the 1944 Water Treaty.  Ag Secretary Rollins said a lack of water has already ended sugarcane production in the Valley and is putting the future of citrus, cotton, and other crops at risk.
