Work will resume soon on asphalt crack repair projects in Rice County that was paused last season due to weather concerns.
The Kansas Department of Transportation project will be on U.S. 56 in Rice County, from the Lyons east city limits to the Rice/McPherson County line. The length is 13 miles.
The work is expected to begin around April 3 starting in Rice County, to be completed around April 11 weather permitting.
During the work, traffic will be guided by a pilot car and flaggers, and motorists should be prepared to slow down and stop and expect up to a 15-minute delay.
KDOT urges motorists to stay alert and follow posted signs in all work zones.
