HUTCHINSON, Kan. β€” The Hutchinson High School softball team dropped a pair of games to Andover on Friday at Fun Valley.

Game 1 β€” Andover 8, Hutchinson 0

Andover (2-3) scored in four of the first five innings, including a three-run third and two-run fourth. The Trojans were led by Ella Friederich, who finished 2-for-4 with a double, triple and two RBIs. Kaelyn White added two hits and two RBIs, while Brodie Christensen and Allie Conard each scored twice.

Hutchinson (1-4) managed four hits, including singles from Jaden Durant, Jayanna Cornejo, and Brooke Hogan. Hogan also recorded the team’s lone extra-base hit with a triple.

Kohlbie Craft took the loss in the circle, allowing three earned runs on four hits over four innings. Mauree Garland started and worked three innings, giving up two runs (none earned).

Craft and Hogan each struck out one, while Garland walked none in her three-inning outing. Hutchinson stranded five runners on base.

Allie Wells went the distance for Andover, scattering four hits and striking out four over seven shutout innings.

Game 2 β€” Andover 16, Hutchinson 0

Andover (3-3) jumped out to a 13-4 lead by the third inning and piled up 17 hits, including four from McKinley Castleberry and three each from Conard and Christensen. Chloe Gantz drove in four runs, while Friederich and White added two RBIs apiece. Eight different Trojans recorded at least one hit.

Hutchinson (1-5) cut the deficit to six with a four-run fifth inning and added two more in the sixth, but the rally fell short. The Salthawks were led at the plate by Sadie Marciano, who went 3-for-3 with a run and two RBIs. Kiarah Sterling and Jayanna Cornejo each had two hits and a run scored. Annalee Eckhoff drove in a pair of runs, and Brooke Hogan tallied a hit and an RBI.

Addison Coupe took the loss, allowing 10 earned runs over three innings. Sterling pitched the final inning and struck out two.

Hutchinson totaled 10 hits in the loss but was hurt by six errors.
