William W. “Bill” Kemph, 86, of Walton, Kansas, passed away Thursday, March 10, 2022 at his home. He was born August 6, 1935 in rural Junction City, Kansas, the son of Floyd F. and Lois D. (Adam) Kemph.
He was a member of West Zion Mennonite Church in Moundridge.
Bill was united in marriage to Sharron L. Toews on March 19, 1960 at West Zion Mennonite Church.
He worked at BarnesCo. in Arkansas City as a draftsman. Sharron and Bill lived in Arkansas City from 1974 until 2007, eventually moving to Walton. After their move, Bill joined a league bowling team with two of his brothers.
Bill served in the United States Army Reserves in 1954. That same year, he served in the United States Air Force until 1962, attaining the rank of Airman 1st Class.
He is survived by his two children, Dawn (Richard) See of Winfield and William A. (Lisa) Kemph of Walton; four grandchildren, Brian, Erika, Lauren and Will; eight great-grandchildren; three brothers, Cecil (Rita) Kemph, Floyd “Jinx” (Lila) Kemph and Stan (Mary Ann) Kemph, all of Newton; and sister, Sylvia (Robert) Richardson of Blackwell, Oklahoma.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Sharron; sisters, Ardella Brunner, Twila McRae, and Carol Baker; sisters-in-law, Rita Kemph and Lila Kemph; and brothers-in-law, Maynard Brunner, John McRae, and Cecil Baker.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, March 19, 2022 at West Zion Mennonite Church, Moundridge. Burial will follow at West Zion Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m., Friday, March 18, at Moundridge Funeral Home, with the family present from 5 to 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Good Shepherd Hospice in care of Moundridge Funeral Home, PO Box 410, Moundridge, Kansas 67107.
