HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Hutchinson police released more information on the car/pedestrian accident that killed the pedestrian on Saturday. The accident happened around 12:20 p.m. in the 700 block of East Avenue A.
Police report that a vehicle was traveling westbound and struck a pedestrian that was walking northbound across the road outside of the crosswalk. The pedestrian, 93-year-old Carmen Raya of Hutchinson, was transported to Hutchinson Regional Medical Center where she was pronounced dead. The driver's name has not been released at this time.
The case is still under investigation.
