UPDATE: Union Pacific Railroad said that, at about 3:15 p.m. Sunday, three railcars derailed in Hutchinson. The incident occurred near North Halstead Street and 4th Avenue. No one was injured and there were no releases. Cleanup is underway.
ORIGINAL STORY: A train derailment Sunday has left Halstead Avenue closed between 4th and 11th avenues, with no timeline for reopening.
According to Hutchinson Police, three empty railcars derailed, blocking the roadway. Drivers are advised to use alternate routes until the area is reopened.
No injuries were reported in connection with the incident.
