Several railroad crossing repairs are scheduled in Hutchinson over the coming days, with additional work expected at other crossings in the weeks ahead.

Union Pacific Railroad has notified the city of planned repairs that will temporarily impact traffic at several crossings.

Under the current schedule, crews will work on the Main Street railroad crossing near Avenue D on Friday and Saturday. Work is then scheduled to move to the Adams Street crossing on Monday and the Maple Street crossing on Tuesday.

The schedule is subject to change as railroad and construction crews continue coordinating the work.

Official detour routes have not been announced. Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead, allow additional travel time and use alternate routes when possible.

Additional railroad crossing repairs are anticipated at 17th Street, 4th Street and Monroe Street in the coming weeks. Dates for those projects have not yet been announced.

Drivers should watch for construction crews, traffic-control devices and crossing closures while the work is underway.
