Medical Provider Resources
HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Medical Provider Resources, a Wichita-based medical credentialing and insurance enrollment company, hired Hutchinson resident Marla Booher as its next CEO.
“We conducted a national search and found the best candidate in Hutchinson,” said Phillip Brownlee, executive director of the Medical Society of Sedgwick County, which owns MPR. “Marla Booher has the experience and skills to lead MPR and help it continue to grow.”
Booher served the past 15 years as director of medical staff services at Hutchinson Regional Healthcare System where she oversaw the credentialing and privileging process of more than 1,500 medical providers. She is a Certified Professional in Medical Services Management and holds an MBA from Loyola University Chicago and a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Kansas. She also is an online business education instructor at Hutchinson Community College and serves on boards and committees of several community organizations, including Big Brothers Big Sisters of Reno County and United Way of Reno County.
MPR conducts primary source verification of medical credentials for healthcare facilities and other clients. It also enrolls medical providers throughout Kansas and surrounding states in health insurance networks. It has more than 20 employees and nearly 4,200 providers in its database.
Booher begins at MPR on Oct. 14 but won’t assume her full duties until the current CEO retires at the end of the year.
“I am beyond excited and honored to be joining the MPR team,” Booher said. “MPR is known as Kansas' leading expert in provider enrollment and credentialing best practices. I look forward to continuing to foster the relationships that Vicki and her team have created while exploring ways to expand the MPR brand, customer base and services provided.”
