Jason David Wintamute, 44, of Hutchinson, died January 28, 2022, at his home. He was born March 10, 1977, in Hutchinson, to Larry and Shirley (Grossardt) Wintamute.

Jason attended Winans Elementary School, Sherman Middle School, and graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1995. After high school he moved to Chicago, where he was a cook for Red Lobster. Jason then moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma, before returning to Hutchinson. Most recently, he was a cook for Applebee’s in Hutchinson. Jason enjoyed spending time with his family, cooking out, and making his own BBQ sauce. He loved baseball and was a diehard Chicago Cubs fan as well as Nebraska.

On March 17, 2018, Jason married Cindy Kay Myrtle, in Hutchinson.

He is survived by: wife, Cindy Wintamute, Hutchinson; sons, TreShawn Taylor, Wichita, Vincent and Isaac Wintamute, Wichita; stepsons, Logan Howell, Hutchinson, Klayton Myrtle, Mulvane, Chase Myrtle, Hutchinson; stepdaughter, Brooke Palmatier, Hutchinson; grandson, Asher; parents, Larry and Shirley Wintamute, Hutchinson; brother, Derek Wintamute, Hutchinson; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.

Jason was preceded in death by his grandparents, David and Madolene Wintamute, Melvin and Chonita Grossardt.

Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday, at Elliott Mortuary. Celebration of life will be held at a later date.
