Community Foundation announces hiring of Director of Operations

Hutchinson Community Foundation announces Christy West as its director of operations.

Among her responsibilities, West will oversee regulatory compliance, fund administration, gift stewardship, contracts and the administrative team. Her duties will begin May 20.

West comes to the Community Foundation after serving as of-counsel attorney at Graber & Johnson Law Group LLC, where her focus was estate planning and business law. Previously, she was an adjunct professor of constitutional law at Sterling College and was the associate general counsel at Jacam Chemicals, primarily assisting with environmental compliance. West is admitted to practice law in Kansas and Arkansas and is admitted to the U.S. Tax Court.

West serves on the Hutchinson Regional Healthcare System Board of Directors, including on its Executive Committee and as the Governance Committee chair, and has previously served on the Dillon Nature Center Foundation and Food Bank of Reno County boards of directors. She is also active in her church.

West holds a Bachelor of Arts in political science from Arkansas State University and a Juris Doctorate and a Master of Studies in environmental law from Vermont Law School.

Originally from Paragould, Ark., she has lived in Hutchinson for 22 years and has four daughters.
