CHASE COUNTY —One person died in an accident just before 10p.m. Tuesday in Chase County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2010 Dodge Caravan driven by Stephens, Ashley Marie Stephens,39, Paris, Tennessee, was westbound on U.S. 50 four miles east of Strong City.
The driver failed to maintain the lane. The van crossed to the left of the center and struck an eastbound 2020 Freightliner semi driven by Abdoulaye Oumar, 41, Independence, Kentucky.
Stephens was pronounced dead at the scene and was transported to Brown Bennett Alexander Funeral Home.
Oumar and a passenger in the semi were not injured. The KHP did not report complete seat belt, information.
