HARVEY COUNTY —One person was injured in an accident just after 4 p.m. Monday in Harvey County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2005 Chevy Colorado driven by Riley Karlin, 22, Andover, was northbound on Interstate 135 at Southwest 6th Street in Newton.
The driver lost control of the pickup due to the snow and freezing temperatures. The pickup crossed the median and struck a southbound 2016 Ford Fusion driven by Janae Rempel, 36, Hilsboro. After inpact, the vehicles slid onto the southbound shoulder and struck the guardrail.
EMS transported a passenger in the Ford identified as Connie Faber, 66, Hilsboro, to Newton Medical Center. The drivers were not injured. All three were properly restrained, according to the KHP.
