A crowd of 2,700 racing fans packed the stands Friday night at SaltCity Racing for an action-packed evening of dirt track competition, highlighted by a thrilling win from Zach Blurton of Quinter, Kansas in the 360 Winged Sprint division.
Blurton outpaced a competitive field to take first place in the feature event, edging out Blake Hawn of Sapulpa, Oklahoma, who claimed second. Rounding out the top three was Sam Hafertepe Jr. of Sunnyvale, Texas.
In IMCA Stock Car action, it was Mike Petersillie of Hoisington, Kansas who took the checkered flag, with Hutchinson locals Scott Miller and Tanner Thiel finishing second and third respectively.
In Super Stock action Wichita's J.D. Eveland takes top honors, followed closely by Chris Eveland of Hutchinson. Jerrod Reimer, also of Hutchinson, secured a strong third-place finish.
Friday’s races delivered high-octane entertainment from start to finish, and fans can already look forward to the next round of racing scheduled for Friday, June 20. That night’s lineup will feature IMCA Stock Car, IMCA Modified, IMCA Hobby Stock, IMCA Northern SportMod, and the return of the United Rebel Late Model Series.
