Norma “Jean” Hoskinson received her dearest wish on Sunday, January 16, 2022 when she was ushered into heaven and saw her Savior face to face. Jean was born on July 5, 1930 in rural Reno County near Nickerson, the daughter of Ray and Pearl Dixon.
She was a 1948 graduate of Nickerson High School. She attended Wichita University and Sterling College.
Jean taught at Fairview Rural School and was a substitute teacher in local schools for many years, continuing to teach to age 82.
On April 10, 1952 she married Don Hoskinson of Haven. They had four children, Linda Myhre (Lew), Martin “Marty” Hoskinson (Nancy), Max Hoskinson (Barb) and Kay Penner (Calvin). She has 7 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren whom she dearly loved.
Jean is survived by one son and two daughters. She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Charles, Merle and Robert; husband, Don; and son, Max.
Jean enjoyed her music and was an accomplished vocal soloist. She played several instruments and was the church organist for many years. Jean was a wonderful cook and loved to entertain. Jean will always be remembered for her love of her Lord and her prayer life. Her life verses were Psalm 8 and John 14:27.
